Basically, Jimmy's book is a
"total package" type of training manual targeted
to the "skinny-fat" person, covering exercise,
training programs, eating, supplementation, hormone balancing,
heck, even posture!
I have to say, Jimmy's done
a really nice job of covering the bases here - he's even
included things you normally wouldn't even think of in a training
program and really explained things well.
But, let's go back to "skinny-fat"
for a second. If you're not familiar with the term, I'd like
to make a really bad joke here and say that's the name of
a rapper, but that would be awful and I just won't do that
to you...

Think of "skinny-fat" as
a person who LOOKS skinny yet still carries a significant amount
of bodyfat. Now, because they don't carry a whole lot of muscle
either, the fat doesn't necessarily hang out there like you would
think it would.
"Skinny-fat"
people also tend to have a tough time gaining muscle without adding
a lot of fat as well.
THIS is what Jimmy attacks with his
program - in fact, the first chapter of the book is Jimmy's OWN
story of himself as a "skinny-fat" person (picture a skinny
guy with a BIG stomach).
And in my experience, when the info
is coming from a guy who's been there himself and actually LIVES
what he teaches AND shows the results to prove it, THAT is when
you know you've got your hands on some good information.
Jimmy's first target is hormones
- he's included a very plausible hormonal explanation for why "skinny-fat"
people have such a tough time gaining muscle while keeping the fat
off. I can tell he's done his research with this but the good thing
is, you don't need a PhD to read it. It's all in layman's terms
- you'll have no problem understanding it and relating it to your
own situation.
Supplementation is next on the
list - he's got his top 10 list and I'm happy to say, it's good
stuff. You won't find any "supplement of the month" garbage
in here. Basic and effective but with some really interesting ideas
that specifically attack the "skinny-fat" problem.
The Q&A section I found to have
some really unique info that will actually contradict some of what
you're read in other books and magazines. From his logic, I think
his ideas DO have merit and I can see where he's going with things.
Jimmy's got a number of training programs
included in the book package, covering beginner, intermediate and
advanced. No matter what your level, you'll find a program to suit
your needs. You're looking at 3 workouts a week - approximately
45 minutes each to get the job done. These are very complete and
well thought-out.
One of the best things about Jimmy's
program is that he's very much aware of the "real world"
when it came to putting it all together.
He knows you don't want to be perfect
ALL the time and his program takes that into account. You'll still
